![]() ![]() I am mainly wanting the midi file to create drum charts of different beats. So make the decision and then convert whichever thin git is you need to change.īetter hope it isnt EZD2 though because all the EZX files map differently according to what kit yo are using.įWIW I have been testing for them for a while and it DOES get interesting as soon as you want to actually PLAY their MIDI outside EZD. I used to do a one man band thing for years and because I used a Roland sound module to replay my MIDI stuff I always mapped to the Roland GM/GS drum map standard, which was the one predominantly used at the time. The short answer here is to decide how you will mostly be using the resultant MIDI files. I can't get to your link - I think being at work is preventing so will try later this evening. It 'mostly' only matters what the score looks like. So on import into MuseScore, it's more of a mess. It's the midi export and playback that is the issue. If I need sound files, I can save wav files directly from EZD2 and that process works just fine. It's probably also worth noting that it is not unusual for people scoring with MIDI to have duplicates of parts (or duplicate projects of the same music) - one that sounds right for the mock-up, and one that looks right for the score. I've never used MuseCore, but it looks as if you can decide for yourself how the drum kit part is notated. If I understand correctly, it doesn't matter what it sounds like outside of EZDrummer, it only matters what the score looks like in MuseScore? Wolffman gives a good description of remapping above, but I wonder if that is what you actually need? ![]() It shouldn't take more than a few minutes to move the notes and export the midi file. Just right click at the very left ( on the note name ) this will highlight all the notes, now just use the down arrow in the numeric keyboard to move all the notes down to note 42, repeat with other open hats etc as necessary. Now to move all the midi notes form EG: note 60 to note 42 My suggestion would be to get a GM midi drum map for reaper an load that into the midi editor, now you will see all the kit piece names down the left side. To remap the hats is not as complicated as it seems will not take long at all. If I remap, can you point me to a resource or instruct me in a nutshell? So now I need to 'remap' somehow, correct? I mean there is no way I am editing the midi file in reaper to move all these notes around so the GM Midi player will recognize them, am I right? This would take forever Sure enough.midi map in EZD2 has the hats on this beat I created on keys 60, 61, 62 and 63 and the GM as you described has the hats on 42 and 46. ![]()
